There are times when you are searching in your wine cabinet for a special something. It was just a Friday evening but I wanted something unusual. Found it! Cab Franc! I pulled out the 2012 Freemark Abbey Cabernet Franc, Napa Valley. Gotta love that…

Cab Franc is usually thought of as a blending wine for bordeaux blends, but I think it’s just fantastic on its own.

This wine showcased plum and cherry, a hint of violet and good tannins with slight herbal notes.

Cheers

Thank you for a great review! We grow and produce a wonderful Cab Franc and always make a point to purchase any we see for comparison. I will definitely seek this one at our local wine shop. Cheers!

I almost pulled out that wine last night but decided to save it for later this week. Nice post!
